# Import Google Sheets into BigCommerce Size Charts

Use Google Sheets to prepare a sizing table, then import its published web-page version into a PRIKID.APP content item. The current **Google Sheet** block imports a **snapshot**: editing the sheet alone does not update your saved storefront chart. Refresh the block and save the content item after each change.

If you have not created a content item yet, follow the [main size-chart setup guide](https://prikid.app/docs/adding-a-pop-up-or-size-chart-to-product-pages/) for product selection, display mode and publishing. This guide focuses on the Google Sheets part of that workflow. Select any screenshot to enlarge it; on a phone, tap the opened image to zoom and drag to read wide screens.

## 1. Prepare a clear, public-safe sizing sheet

- Use a dedicated spreadsheet containing only information intended for shoppers. A single chart tab is the most predictable starting point. The current import panel has no workbook-tab selector; do not assume that all tabs, an arbitrary `gid` or a selected range will be imported.
- Give each size and measurement a clear heading. Include units such as cm or inches, use consistent number formatting and fit long labels into readable rows and columns.
- Check formula results, missing values and unwanted rows before publishing. PRIKID imports the displayed table; it does not turn the Google workbook into an editable PRIKID Table block or a live formula calculator.
- Keep the table compact enough to read on a phone. Remove unnecessary blank space and test complex merges or formatting rather than assuming an exact visual copy. Imported Google values do not automatically become PRIKID’s native measurement cells.

## 2. Publish to the web and check the public version

In the desktop Google Sheets editor, open **File → Share → Publish to web**. In the **Link** tab, choose **Web page**, review the content being published, then click **Publish** if the sheet is not already published. Copy the published URL containing `/pubhtml`. Google supports publishing a workbook or individual sheets; PRIKID’s importer has its own limitations described above. See [Google’s publishing instructions](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/183965).

[![Current Google Sheets Publish to the web dialog with Link selected, Web page format and the published pubhtml URL; this example is already published.](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-published-dialog-current.jpg)](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-published-dialog-current.jpg)
The current Google publishing dialog. This public template is already published, so its button reads Published. Copy the Link URL; do not paste the Embed HTML into PRIKID’s URL field.

Open that URL in a private browser window where you are signed out of Google. Confirm that the intended table, images and links work without a sign-in or access-request screen. **Share** and **Publish to web** are separate controls: a normal `/edit` sharing link, CSV export link or iframe code is not the published web-page URL requested by this block. Do not grant public Editor access to make an import work.

If publishing is unavailable or restricted to your organization, ask the Google Workspace administrator about the intended public chart. A shopper-facing chart must be available to its shoppers; do not bypass an organization’s restrictions or publish private information to solve an access error.

## 3. Add the current Google Sheet import block

Open your content item and go to **Content**. In **Content blocks**, click **Google Sheet**. It adds a block to the layout and opens its editor on the right. Keep any other text or image blocks you need; importing a sheet into this block is separate from choosing a whole-layout example.

[![Current content editor with sample table, text and image blocks, all five content-block icons, Examples and Preview controls.](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-content-editor-loaded-icons.jpg)](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-content-editor-loaded-icons.jpg)
The current content editor with all five block types loaded. Choose Google Sheet from the block list; use the main setup guide for the surrounding workflow.

The current Google Sheet panel says Import table from google spreadsheets and requests a link to the published spreadsheet.

Paste your complete published `/pubhtml` URL into **Link to the published spreadsheet**, then click the circular-arrow **Refresh** button beside it, or press Enter in the field. Pasting alone does not complete the import. Wait for loading to finish and check that the expected table appears. If the field reports an invalid URL, return to Google’s publishing dialog and copy its Web page link.

Use the Content editor’s **Preview** to inspect the result. Check values, units, row/column labels, images, links and readable scale before saving. If the result is empty or loading stalls, use the troubleshooting checks below and keep your last working saved chart.

## 4. Save the chart, then refresh and save after sheet edits

After checking the import, continue to **Display options** and use the [main size-chart setup guide](https://prikid.app/docs/adding-a-pop-up-or-size-chart-to-product-pages/) to choose the intended popup, inline content or tab, confirm product targeting, and **Save & Publish**. **Save as draft** keeps an item for editing; it does not publish it to shoppers. Check the saved item and an actual matching product on desktop and mobile.

**What is copied?** The current import flow copies the published table’s rendered values and formatting into HTML, keeps the source URL for future refreshes, and saves the content item’s rendered HTML when you save. It does not save an editable Google workbook or continually recalculate formulas. Images and font references may still load from external hosts, so the snapshot is not necessarily a self-contained offline copy.

- Edit the sheet in Google Sheets.
- Check that the published web-page URL shows the updated values. If Google’s Automatically republish when changes are made option is off, update the published version first. Google notes that publishing updates can take a few minutes; there is no fixed PRIKID synchronization interval.
- Reopen the content item, select its Google Sheet block and click Refresh. Check the new result in Preview.
- Save the item again with the intended published state, then reload the affected storefront product. Check every content item that separately imported the same sheet; each saved snapshot needs its own update.

**Older embedded blocks:** an existing older Google Sheet block may instead say *Embed a google sheet into the layout*. That older iframe path loads linked sheet content when the frame loads, unlike the current imported HTML snapshot. It is not the block offered by the current Add Google Sheet control. Do not assume identical refresh, caching, sheet selection or image behavior; contact support if you need help identifying or replacing an older block. This guide does not promise automatic live updates or recommend pasting arbitrary iframe code into another block.

## 5. Start from a template if useful

Click the grid-shaped **Templates** button next to the URL field. The current picker offers women’s apparel, children’s head sizing and men’s sizing examples. Select a suitable starting layout, then verify that it imports before relying on it.

[![Current Google Spreadsheet Templates picker showing women's apparel, children's head sizing and men's size chart options.](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-template-picker-current.jpg)](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-template-picker-current.jpg)
The current template picker. Choose an example, then replace its sample measurements with values appropriate to your own products.

After a template loads, its panel offers **Copy to my Google drive**. Make your own copy before editing the template. You can also open it through **View all templates on Google drive** and use Google’s **File → Make a copy**. Publish your own copy and replace the PRIKID URL with that copy’s published link. Refresh, preview and save again. Copying a file alone does not publish it or reconnect your PRIKID item.

## 6. Check images and clickable links at every stage

For images, use **Insert → Image → Image in cell** in Google Sheets, rather than floating an image over cells. See [Google’s image instructions](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/9224754?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en). An image visible in your signed-in editor is not proof it is available on the public web page or in the imported chart.

[![Google published web-page view of the public sizing template, with size values and its in-cell silhouette image visible.](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-published-sheet-current.jpg)](https://prikid.app/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/prikid-google-sheets-gs-published-sheet-current.jpg)
The published Google web-page version of the public template, including its in-cell image. This shows Google’s output, not a completed PRIKID import.

Compare the signed-out published sheet, the PRIKID block/Preview and the saved storefront chart. If an image is absent from the published version, solve that Google publishing or image-access issue first. If it is public in Google but absent after import, refresh the block and check the saved result; report the difference to support if it remains. Do not assume changing Share to Anyone with the link fixes every image. Review the file and image permissions only when needed, using the least access appropriate for public content.

For links, test the actual clickable link on the published web page, then in Preview and on the storefront. Use the intended public destination and check that it does not require an editor login. A link attached to an image, an internal workbook link or an action that works only inside Google Sheets may not survive publication/import as a working shopper link. PRIKID cannot restore a link that Google’s public version does not expose. An “Add to cart” picture is not proof of a working BigCommerce cart action. Use a separately tested Text & Video link alongside a native Image block when that gives you a more reliable result.

## 7. Protect privacy and handle browser warnings safely

Publish only customer-facing measurements and approved content. Keep customer data, orders, internal prices, account details and credentials out of the published file. Review which sheets are published and check the public result after later edits. Hidden tabs or protected ranges should not be treated as a privacy boundary for material you intend to keep private.

To remove the Google web version, use **Published content & settings → Stop publishing**. This does **not** erase a snapshot already saved in PRIKID. Also remove the imported block or unpublish the affected content items, save the change, and verify the storefront. External images and fonts may make requests to their hosting services; use assets approved for public use.

If a browser displays a dangerous-site, certificate or other security warning, stop and record the exact warning and affected URL. Contact support for diagnosis. Do not bypass the warning, disable protections, or assume it is harmless because a sheet is involved. Historical support incidents do not prove the cause of a new warning.

## 8. Troubleshoot missing, stale or unreadable content

- **Invalid URL or access error:** use the Link/Web page URL from Publish to web, not Share, an editor URL or Embed code. Check it signed out. Confirm the chart is still published and permitted for public visitors.
- **Blank block or Refresh never finishes:** confirm the published table itself loads, then check the app’s displayed error and browser/network errors if available. A public page working in Google does not guarantee the importer accepts its current output. Preserve the last working saved item; contact support rather than repeatedly replacing it with an empty import.
- **Wrong sheet or incomplete table:** check the actual published URL and published content selection. Use a dedicated single-chart spreadsheet; do not assume a query-string tab or range selection is supported by PRIKID.
- **Old values:** compare the sheet editor, published web page, refreshed block, saved item and storefront in that order. Google republishing, PRIKID Refresh and saving are separate steps. Only after saving, reload the product or compare a fresh browser window; a hard refresh cannot replace the missing import/save step.
- **Missing image or unclickable link:** check the signed-out published version first, use in-cell images, refresh and save, then compare the storefront. Confirm destination and external image access. Do not infer success from the signed-in Sheets editor.
- **Very small, cut-off or different formatting:** simplify the sheet, reduce empty space and wide columns, and check Preview plus desktop/mobile storefronts. Fonts can differ after import; a complex workbook need not render exactly like Google Sheets.
- **Preview works but no storefront chart:** use the [main size-chart setup guide](https://prikid.app/docs/adding-a-pop-up-or-size-chart-to-product-pages/) to check published state, matching product rules, display mode, app/script availability and the intended storefront. For theme placement problems, see [placement and theme troubleshooting](https://prikid.app/docs/how-to-place-a-size-chart-link-elsewhere/).

When opening a [support ticket](https://support.prikid.app/new-ticket), include the store and affected product URLs, content item name, the published sheet URL safe to share, the exact error/warning, what should appear, and screenshots of the published sheet, import panel/Preview and storefront on the affected device. State whether the block says Import or Embed, when you last refreshed/saved, and whether the problem occurs signed out. Do not send credentials or private spreadsheets.
